Catholic Charities Housing Services is pleased to announce it will send staff and board members to the Rural LISC Seminar, an annual national conference for rural community development professionals. This year’s Seminar will be held in Washington, D.C. May 15-18 and will provide unique opportunities to visit with Congressional representatives on Capitol Hill; gain valuable insight into ways to improve communities in the wake of natural disasters; and offer networking opportunities with rural colleagues from around the country.
Lisa Mensah, Opportunity Finance Network President and CEO, will welcome attendees with a keynote address. Participants will engage in three days of plenary and workshop sessions organized around three tracks:
- Organizational Resilience: board development and governance; leadership training; talent development
- Disaster Resilience and Recovery: building organizational capacity to withstand natural disasters
- Community and Economic Resilience: increasing community and economic resilience, including creating jobs; LGBT Housing; leadership development
“Catholic Charities Housing Services exemplifies the very best in bringing innovative programming to their community, and we are delighted that they are attending this year’s Seminar,” said Suzanne Anarde, LISC Vice President and Rural LISC Director.
