Grant Aims to Help Lower Area Childhood Obesity and Diabetes Rates

Catholic Charities Housing Services is excited to announce that they are the recipient of a federal grant in partnership with Virginia Mason Memorial (VMM) and Inspire Development Centers (IDC). The grant is a three-year strategic grant totaling $600,000. The grant will be used to help reduce childhood obesity rates and diabetes in the long term.

CCHS will target children and youth ages 6-13 in Yakima and Benton counties. The parents of participating youth will also receive services through the grant. CCHS is looking forward to working with VMM and IDC in this partnership to create many positive outcomes.
