Catholic Charities Housing Services receives funding from MultiCare's Community Partnership Fund

Catholic Charities Housing Services (CCHS) will soon be able to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare for residents of their housing sites thanks partly to MultiCare Health System's Community Partnership Fund funding. The Fund, which focuses on building partnerships to advance initiatives, programs, and projects that improve our community - awarded $10,000 to CCHS to support community programming in 2024.

The funds will be used to help very low-income families improve the quality and accessibility of health care and education services in the community. It will also address the social determinants of health that affect the lives of the people who live at CCHS housing sites and throughout Yakima.

“Our program will provide help and increase awareness of healthcare systems and how to navigate them, access to healthcare and prevention programs, and it will coordinate programming through working with partner agencies to support good health practices and behaviors at our housing sites,” said Sandra Aguilar, Resident Services Manager for CCHS.

MultiCare's Community Partnership Fund has given millions of dollars in the past eight years to hundreds of groups across the state to support programs that improve the health and well-being of communities. The Fund supports organizations in Pierce, King, Thurston, and Kitsap counties that address housing and homelessness, food insecurity, health care, and children's needs. In the Inland Northwest, the fund supports organizations focusing on behavioral health, children's health, dental health, and food insecurity.

"Investing in programs that contribute to the health and well-being of our communities is paramount to our mission of partnering for healing and a healthy future," said Maree Edwards Olson, MultiCare's chief marketing and communications officer. "By partnering with community organizations, we can help ensure essential programs and services are available to address a wide range of needs."
