Catholic Charities provides coaching and professional development to all licensed child care providers in Chelan, Douglas, Grant, Adams, Okanogan, Ferry, Kittitas, and Yakima Counties through the Child Care Aware, Early Achievers Program.

Coaching and Professional Development

Catholic Charites provides in-home and virtual early learning coaching services including:

• Helping build family partnerships to support children's development, family well-being, and positive parent-child interactions

• Providing screening tools to identify developmental challenges

• Sharing an understanding of age-appropriate games, toys, and lessons

• Quarterly training opportunities in areas of child development, quality interactions and environment, equity, behavior challenges, social and emotional support

• Helping children become school-ready

• Improving the overall learning environment and curriculum

Early Childhood Mental Health Consultants assist child care provider homes or licensed centers by:

• Strengthening and supporting the efforts of families and childcare providers to enhance optimal social and emotional development of children
• Addressing challenging behaviors and the impact of mental health challenges for children and families
