Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)

If you have a child age 2-5 who has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, it can be overwhelming to navigate through emotions and next steps. Catholic Charities has services available to meet your child’s and your family’s needs.

Applied Behavioral Analysis is an intensive behavioral health program specifically for children with an autism diagnosis. The ABA program includes proven teaching methods, including naturalistic teaching, discrete trial training, reciprocal imitation teaching, speech therapy, and other treatments within a plan that is individualized for your child. A certified behavior technician will work one-on-one with your child under a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst.

The program is designed to help your child:

  • Learn social skills: sharing, taking turns, sitting at a table, circle time, etc.
  • Increase academic and cognitive skills
  • Develop expressive and receptive language skills
  • Demonstrate appropriate activity participation: sitting at a table, circle time, learning routines, and transitioning between activities
  • Reduce inappropriate behavior
  • Improve ability to transition successfully to school or early learning setting
  • Address adaptive skills: feeding, toileting, etc.

Our goal is to make sure your child is school-ready, so those closest to starting kindergarten are often prioritized. This program can fill quickly, and you may need to wait until space is available to enroll your child.
