Birth to Age 3 Services for Child Care Providers
It can be hard to understand what to expect from children at each stage of development. From birth to age 3, young children may communicate their feelings and needs through their actions. How we respond to a child’s actions and feelings and nurture them can help a child learn and grow.
We provide reflective coaching and consultation to early learning professionals and child care providers to help them learn how to respond to children and create a culturally responsive environment. These skills help support a child’s social/emotional development and overall wellbeing through safe and nurturing relationships.
As a part of the consultation:
- We film interactions between the childcare provider and children to help the providers reinforce positive interactions that promote healthy brain development.
- Childcare providers use the Ages and Stages Developmental screening to learn about a child’s strengths as well as potential areas of need. We support providers to engage with families enrolled in their program to learn more about their child’s developmental milestones.
