Catholic Charities Housing Services Receives Grant from MultiCare

Catholic Charities Housing Services (CCHS) will continue providing vital services to residents through collaboration with their community partners and their Resident Services Program, thanks in part to funding from MultiCare Health System’s Community Partnership Fund.

The fund — which focuses on building partnerships to advance initiatives, programs and projects that improve the health of our communities — awarded $20,000 to CCHS to support support Pathways to Healthy Living programming this year.

This grant will be dedicated to improving health care and education access for very low-income Latino families, while addressing the social determinants of health that impact residents and the wider Yakima community. CCHS’ Resident Services Program Health Area of Focus - Pathways to Healthy Living - will work in partnership with local health-based community organizations in the coordination of on-site health and resource fairs, health screenings, and hosting health-related prevention and awareness classes. CCHS will also coordinate presentations, connect residents to mental health services, and provide referral and access to social support resources for both residents and invited guests.

“We are excited to announce a MultiCare partnership grant award which will enable CCHS to continue providing vital services to residents through collaboration with our community partners and our Resident Services Program,” says Sandra Aguilar, Associate Director-CCHS Resident Services. “By engaging directly with residents at 11 multi-family and senior housing sites, we will offer personalized information and referral services, fostering high-level engagement.”

MultiCare’s Community Partnership Fund has given millions of dollars in the past nine years to hundreds of groups across the state to support programs that improve the health and well-being of our communities. Selected organizations and their programs support the most pressing health needs in MultiCare’s hospital service areas, as identified in the MultiCare Community Health Needs Assessment. These assessments, and accompanying implementation strategies, represent MultiCare’s commitment to promoting health and healing in the community.

“Each one of the organizations selected for the Community Partnership Fund has shown the ability to make a tangible impact on the health of our communities,” said Marce Edwards Olson, vice president and chief marketing and communications officer for MultiCare. “We are proud to partner with organizations that share community health priorities and a commitment to the communities we serve.”
