Parenting Education
Children need a close, reliable relationship with their parent or guardian to feel safe to be able to use their functioning skills, but no parent is perfect. No one receives an instruction manual when they bring a baby into this world. Trying to be a good parent when you did not have good examples, have suffered through trauma, are not in a safe environment, or are going through a divorce can make it extra challenging.
At Catholic Charities, we offer parenting skills classes. When you join, you will take an assessment to help better determine your needs and strengths. Catholic Charities offers parenting support, housing resources and other resources you may need. Throughout these classes you will learn self-care, communication skills, child development, anger management, positive discipline, techniques to deal with challenging behaviors, and developing family time.
Our goal is to support and empower the families and children in our communities so they can support the needs of their children. Reach out and enroll today!
