CCHS Opens Casa de la Mora Housing Community in Yakima
Catholic Charities Housing Services (CCHS) is pleased to announce the official opening of Casa de la Mora, a modern affordable housing community located at 115 N 10th Street in Yakima.

Spanning four stories and 71,273 square feet, the development has begun welcoming residents, with full occupancy expected by late summer. The building comprises 73 apartments—including 29 one-bedroom, 32 two-bedroom, and 12 three-bedroom units—complemented by amenities such as a community room, enhanced security lighting, rooftop solar panels, and 12 electric vehicle charging stations.
Casa de la Mora expands access to stable housing for lower-income households and individuals facing significant barriers, including young adults, youth exiting foster care, and individuals with disabilities. Utilizing HUD Section 811 and project-based Housing Choice Vouchers, specific unit allocations include:
- 25 Units designated for young adults (ages 18–24) experiencing housing instability.
- 17 Units equipped with accessibility features for individuals with disabilities.
- 10 Units allocated for youth transitioning out of foster care.
- Remaining Units reserved for low-income individuals and families.
Recognizing that long-term stability requires comprehensive support, CCHS has integrated on-site services through partnerships with Youth and Young Adult Services, Rod’s House, Yakima Neighborhood Health Services, and Community Health of Central Washington. Residents will have direct access to case management, healthcare coordination, behavioral health resources, and life-skills training.

The development represents a collaborative effort across public and private sectors, supported by partners including Beacon Development Group, ZBA Architects, M.C. Lundgren Construction, the Washington State Department of Commerce, the National Equity Fund, Banner Bank, Yakima County, and the City of Yakima. The construction process created over 100 local jobs.
CCHS will host a private grand opening ceremony on August 12, featuring remarks from state and local leadership, including Governor Bob Ferguson and Bishop Joseph Tyson.
