New Play & Learn Wenatchee Location Opens During “Week of the Child”

Catholic Charities Serving Central Washington celebrated the opening of the agency’s new location for their Early Connections Play & Learn program in Wenatchee at 135 S. Worthen Street on April 5. A ribbon cutting included a proclamation from the City of Wenatchee, the City of East Wenatchee, and Chelan County declaring the Week of the Child. The proclamation, signed by Rep. Mike Steele, East Wenatchee Mayor Jerrilea Crawford, and Wenatchee Mayor Mike Poirier, commits to “investments that stabilize, sustain, and support childcare and early learning so that essential workforce can continue to support children’s families and our economy through the recovery from the pandemic and beyond.”

Early Connections Play & Learn is a hybrid program that supports parents, guardians, and children birth to five with fun interactive activities both in person and virtual. Parents or guardians can access virtual services through a texting platform and connect to a live early learning specialist. They are presented with a list of different services offered. In-person Play and Learn offers a three-hour drop-in group session for guardians to play and learn along with their child in a safe and fun facilitated environment.
